Passengers

Passengers was conceived while I was living in Los Angeles. I would spend 2-4 hours each day riding the LA metro, where I would take hundreds of covert photographs. I transposed some of the most interesting images into paintings, drawing upon my memory to isolate key details of my transit experience. Unlike I, Voyeur, which captures the chaos of social order on a train, Passengers distills only the most striking details of it.

These paintings capture individual passengers in unique moments of transition, as well as the details of their transit vessel. Each piece is a snapshots and clue to the story of their lives.
